Description
ITALIAN BAROQUE CARVED & GILT FRAMED MIRROR, 18TH CENTURY. Rope carved side-strips.  Dragon-like design.  Rectangular mirror within a conforming frame heavily carved with scroll-work.  Mirror is cresting below a rococo cartouche, flanked by beautifully carved cartouche. Bordered with  scroll cartouche embellishment. Measures an impressive 47" by 35" (end to end).  Period mid 18th century (c. 1760).
The mirror retains its original gilding.  The mirror appears to be original.  Some gilt loss to frame and outer carvings.  Typical aging for an 18th century mirror.  Hanging loops intact (possible later addition-late 18th to early 19th century).
